The immensely popular business phone made by BlackBerry, the Bold 9900, has been in the news quite a lot this morning.
The first bit of news comes out of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, where a white version of the phone was spotted at a technology expo. The phone reportedly has the same internals as the black version, so it’ll include the 1.2GHz single core processor, capacious battery and excellent (for a BlackBerry) 2.8″ touch screen. The phone will also sport the same 5 megapixel camera, HD video recording and support for Near Field Communication (NFC).
The phone was later spotted in a Vodafone UK advert, where I must admit the combination of a white chassis and aluminium outer loop did look quite good. This is sure to be a favourite of celebrities and the fashion conscious everywhere.
Fresher news this morning will come as a relief to BlackBerry fans on AT&T’s network in the US — according to the AT&T deals Twitter account, the BlackBerry Bold 9900 will soon be available to users of the network. While it hasn’t been revealed if this includes the white and black versions, given the recent release of information regarding the white version it would suggest that AT&T would offer the phone. This might offset some of the sales they’ve lost from not stocking the phone sooner.
So all in all, if you’re a fan of the top of the line sim free BlackBerry 9900, then it’s a good day indeed.
