I am quite fond of Korean music and Korean StarCraft players/competitions, so I thought for a lark I’d install the Korean keyboard layout on my computer. Here’s what I’ve learned so far:
Korean StarCraft Terms
Want to scare your opponents on the American or European StarCraft 2 ladder? Use these handy Korean phrases!
Format: Phrase: Meaning -> English Keys
ㅈㅈ: gg -> ww
지지: gg (longer form) -> wlwl
ㅎㅎ: laughing -> gg
ㄱㄱ: go go -> rr
ㅋㅋ: keke (also laughing) -> zz
ㅜㅜ: sad face -> nn

Writing Girls’ Generation (aka SNSD)
SNSD is an awesome band. They are called So Nyeo Shi Dae or 소녀시대 in Korea. To write this on the standard Korean keyboard layout (Microsoft IME), I give each character and its English key equivalent. To go into Korean input mode, just install the language and then press Right Alt + Right Shift.
소 = th
녀 = su
시 = tl
대 = eo
So SNSD or 소녀시대 results from typing thsutleo!
